This year team ANAVI Mumbai celebrated Navaratri ( Dandiya Night) with the children of Salaam Baalak Trust, JB Nagar on Firday, 04th October, 2019.
This year, Teacher’s Day celebration was conducted at Sarsuna Girl’s home. The girls performed few Yoga Postures they learned in recent times showing respect towards the teachers of the Home. Team Anavi was present along with Capt. Deepak Correa.
ANAVI has always believed in having celebrations with a difference. Be it any festival or our anniversary. Continuing the tradition of spreading cheer to the under privileged during the season of Durga Puja and Diwali, we organized our visits to two of the institutes that have long been part of the ANAVI family.
ANAVI Team Mumbai celebrated Elder’s Day on 01st October with the inmates of Old Age Home run by Little Sisters of The Poor.
“Books Are a Uniquely Portable Magic”-Stephen King.
“There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others.”
2019 started on a good note with lunch organized for all inmates of Apon Ghar and Sarsuna Home. Towards the end of January, ANAVI team of Kolkata went on a Cruise Trip with few elders from Ramola Bhavan & Apon Ghor over Ganges from morning till noon.
ANAVI team of Mumbai visited the Old Age home looked after by The Little Sisters of The Poor on 18th Jan to play Housie with the elders (their favourite game). When they entered the seating area, a firm & warm handshake of the excited uncle who volunteers to sell handmade flowers doubled their enthusiasm of visiting that day.
Since the devastating effects of Kerala floods in Aug, 2018 left many houses and institutions in ruins, ANAVI through various contributions from Anglo-Eastern offices across India and other countries successfully volunteered in resurrecting the lives of flood affected victims in Kerala.
A thought that summarises the fundamental belief of Anavi. It was the young Enzo, sixteen year old son of Mrs. and Mr. Cremers who said it better than we could have ourselves.
The Cremers family along with Capt. Vinay Singh was in Kolkata during the last weekend of September to visit the various institutes that Anavi has been working with.Six institutes were covered during their stay here.
